Restored (The Grindstone Song)

This song has been ringing in my head the past few days. It's so beautiful and I just wanted to share it with you all today.

Restored (The Grindstone Song) by Cheri Keaggy on Grooveshark

Restored
Cheri Keagly

I’ve been living against the grindstone, where nothing is sure but the Lord
For He gives us the treasures of darkness, where faith’s greatest riches are stored
And in ways that are quite unexpected, I have learned a most humbling truth
That a faith that has never been tested is just growth that is long overdue
So, I’m practicing joy, choosing it daily, putting it on like a favorite cologne
And when life breaks me down, it won’t even faze me
Some call me crazy, but I’m just in love with the Lord
For He has been faithful enough just to fill me
And take me to heights I have never explored
If I’m never broken, how can I be restored
So I’m trading these comfortable choices, For living that’s much more alive
And the more that my spirit rejoices, the more that I grow and I thrive
If surrender is seen as a weakness, then the lowliest beggar I’ll be
I’ll embrace every struggle with meekness ‘cause I know that it’s making me free
Restore me Lord and make me new again, I want nothing more than to soar

So, I’m practicing joy, choosing it daily, putting it on like a favorite cologne
And when life breaks me down, it won’t even faze me
Some call me crazy, but I’m just in love with the Lord
For He has been faithful enough just to fill me
And take me to heights I have never explored
If I’m never broken, how can I be restored

Blessings!

P. S. My cousins are coming over tomorrow so keep a look out for more posts soon!

Getting ready for Christmas

This past weekend we had a soccer tournament, got a Christmas tree and went to a Christmas concert which Benjamin and Julie played in.
First off... Soccer!

Watching the boys warm up

Julie and Uncle Matt were at the fields all day refereeing. On one of Julie's brakes she came and watched Ben's game. IT WAS FREEZING! And we forgot all our blankets. Brrr...

Aunt Emily, Mari, Matthew and Samuel came to watch the game too!

Matthew and Adrian playing a game on Aunt Emily's phone.

Samuel, keeping warm by drinking some hot chocolate!

Go Ben!!!

Aunt Emily, Ben and Marianah

At a Christmas Tree Farm
on the way home from the tournament we saw a tree farm and stopped to get ours!

Little cage with sweet little bunnies

and goats

Adrian was watching this dad throwing his little girl and he began to smile... : )

on top of a haystack

the perfect one

Adrian saw some stumps with sap oozing out and rubbed his hands all in it before we realized it. Here he is just realizing that pine straw is sticking to his hands!

sweepy little boy

At the Concert
The pictures we took during the concert didn't come out quite right so here's some from afterwards

Julie played the flute and Ben, the violin

Me and the Maestro's! : )

What have ya'll been up to?

O for a Thousand Tongues to Sing

O for a Thousand Tongues to Sing
by Charles Wesley

O for a thousand tongues to sing
My great Redeemer's praise,
The glories of my God and King,
The triumphs of His grace!

My gracious Master and my God,
Assist me to proclaim,
To spread through all the earth abroad
The honors of Thy name.

Jesus! the name that charms our fears,
That bids our sorrows cease;
'Tis music in the sinner's ears,
'Tis life, and health, and peace.

He breaks the power of canceled sin,
He sets the prisoner free;
His blood can make the foulest clean,
His blood availed for me.

He speaks, and listening to His voice,
New life the dead receive,
The mournful, broken hearts rejoice,
The humble poor believe.

On this glad day the glorious Sun
Of Righteousness arose;
On my benighted soul He shone
And filled it with repose.

Sudden expired the legal strife,
'Twas then I ceased to grieve;
My second, real, living life
I then began to live.

Then with my heart I first believed,
Believed with faith divine,
Power with the Holy Ghost received
To call the Savior mine.

I felt my Lord's atoning blood
Close to my soul applied;
Me, me He loved, the Son of God,
For me, for me He died!

"I... heard the voice of many angles, numbering thousands upon thousands."
Revelation 5:11

I wanted to share with you this immortal hymn written by Charles Wesley. He wrote over 6,500 hymns! This song was written on the anniversary of his conversion to Christ. It's powerful message and joyful tune is such a wonderful reminder of Christ's great love for us!
