Getting ready for Christmas

This past weekend we had a soccer tournament, got a Christmas tree and went to a Christmas concert which Benjamin and Julie played in.

First off... Soccer!

Julie and Uncle Matt were at the fields all day refereeing. On one of Julie's brakes she came and watched Ben's game. IT WAS FREEZING! And we forgot all our blankets. Brrr...

on the way home from the tournament we saw a tree farm and stopped to get ours!

Adrian saw some stumps with sap oozing out and rubbed his hands all in it before we realized it. Here he is just realizing that pine straw is sticking to his hands!

What have ya'll been up to?

Lost and Found

Coming home from our Thanksgiving get together at Grandmommie's home we found a little white bunny hopping along a busy road. Dad was driving past when he slammed the brakes and began backing up. (Don't worry, there weren't any cars passing by just then!) Benjamin jumped out of the van and caught the little bunny and we began home, wondering who this little fellow belonged to. The two houses along the road were dark and so we decided to come back when the people were home. Mom and Dad went out the next day and found the owners. The little girl was so happy! The next day Mama and Adrian brought the sweet rabbit back. Mom took some pictures too.

Of hay bales and dirt bikes and a determined little boy

The field, on the property that my family and I are temporarily living, was cut recently. This means hay bales! Benjamin and I road his dirt bike down to see these gloriously big golden bales.

They are bigger than they look.

He saw.

He climbed.

He conquered. : )

My 6-year-old cousin, Haydon, has been staying with us for a while and today Mom took him on some errands with her. When they came back, Haydon proudly showed us his "new" bike.

He had never ridden a bike without training wheels so we thought that it would take him a while to learn to ride. Boy were we wrong! Haydon got on that bike and rode like a pro!

He was so excited, so proud that he could do it!

Adrian, on the other hand was upset because he couldn't ride. Look at that face!

I love this boy. He is such a sweet heart, even when he pouts. ; )

He consoled himself when he saw mom's sunglasses.

LOL! Cool dude.

The determination of this little boy was so beautiful to see. He wanted to ride a bike and he rode it. He soaked up our encouragement and excitement for him. This really reminded me of something I posted a while back.
